ABOUT THE TOUR

22nd March is World Water Day. So where can our journey take us: to a Ramsar site, Nyirkai-Hany. The convention for the protection of wetlands also contributed to the fact that Nyirkai-Hany is currently one of the most important waterfowl habitats in our country. On the professionally guided tour, participants can get to know both the typical animals and plants of this landscape.

The spring snowflakes are slowly starting to emerge, the main flowering season is expected to fall at the end of February this year as well. It is worth visiting the spring snowflakes forest again, as it always shows a different face depending on the weather.

The effects of climate change are felt here as well – due to the recent dry years, the number of spring snowflakes is constantly decreasing. However, the current one is rainy, thanks to this, many points of the educational trail are in water (in some places up to the ankles)!

It can also be visited individually, but with personal and digital expert guidance, we can not only delight our eyes, but also learn a lot about the area.

It is worth reading the information below so that you can get an idea of ​​the flowers and their habitat before the trip!

The number of flowers is also determined by the extensive trampling damage typical of previous years. To prevent this, cordons were placed along the path. We ask everyone to stay on the path, do not cross the posted cordon!

In windy weather – due to the presence of many dead trees, which are crucial to the life of the spring snowflake forest – it is still dangerous to stay in the forest, so please visit the site only in suitable weather conditions! For the trip, you need clothing and (waterproof) footwear suitable for the weather and hiking! We can also do this to prevent tick bites, as the soon-to-be mild weather is not only favorable for flowering, but also for ticks. It is worth checking yourself after the trip!

Pay attention not only to ourselves, but also to the things we brought with us: “The forest belongs to everyone, take your trash home!”
